River Fishing and Bear Watching

Overview

This tour is designed for cruise ship passengers who are looking for an Alaskan excursion that is off the beaten path. We’ll depart Icy Strait Point and drive through the Alaska Native Tlingit village of Hoonah before merging onto old logging roads that will take us to a remote river. During the car ride and along the river it is common to spot wildlife- the island has more brown bears per square mile than almost anywhere else on the planet.

We met with Natalie and she drove us to a private property to fish. She is extremely well prepared and knowledgeable. She was very safety focused and patient. My husband, son, and I learned how to fly fish for the 1st time. Natalie is a great teacher and took her time to help our 11 year old daughter fish. The property was gorgeous and it was wonderful to get away from the more touristy places to really experience the beauty of Alaska. We would highly recommend Natalie and her tours. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

We had a great time fishing with Nat. She was so attentive to everyone fishing. She never complained with me for getting hung up. She was always there to help. We did not see any bear while we were there. But did see a lot of eagles. And even saw an eagle come down and catch a fish. Would definitely come back to fish with her again.
