Road to Hana Day Trip

Overview
The Hāna Highway is a 64.4-mile long stretch of spectacular views of rainforest, waterfalls, beaches and coastline. On the east after Kalepa Bridge, the highway continues to Kīpahulu on the Piilani Highway. Although Hāna is only about 52 miles from Kahului, it takes about 2.5 hours to drive when no stops are made as the highway is very winding and narrow and passes over 59 bridges, 46 of which are only one lane wide. There are approximately 620 curves along Route 360 from just east of Kahului to Hāna, virtually all of it through lush, tropical rainforest. Many of the concrete and steel bridges date back to 1910 and all but one are still in use. This full-day trip to the Hana coast has the best scenic drive along the shorelines of Maui.

The Keanae overlook and peninsula offer views of one of the largest taro farms in Hawaii.

Sean our guide drive us all along the road to Hana.We were lucky to be only 3guests so it was like a private tour.He explained a lot about all the characteristics of this tour.We really enjoyed to swim on couple of waterfalls! the experience was so refreshing! He stopped us at some local vendors for banana bread and coconut ice cream which were very good. The last part of the trip has such amazing views the scenes are just breathtaking!Thank you for giving us the best tour in Maui!

First of all our Driver Jake was amazing. We really enjoyed his knowledge and stories. However the tour company Dynamic Tour Hawaii is awful. They booked every single seat in a very tight van and it was almost full when it arrived very late. We (8 of us) had to go in the very back where they shouldn't even be seating people. You can't see anything out the windows and it breeds car sickness. The tour had way too many bathroom breaks which were difficult due to the packed van. We gave them our breakfast and lunch orders ahead of time but of course never relayed that info to the driver so another 45 minute delay occurred. We also thought we would be able to go into the waterfalls but we were allowed only a short time at every stop where it was interesting and tons of time for stupid stops. If I had to do it again I would hire a driver for just our group.

I am really sorry for us getting 1* review. We tried many ways to service our customers. We tried serving our customers with the best experience. We did try using many of the food trucks on the road to hana, but as you know they are run by single person when we get there; Sometimes they are closed, Sometimes they go home early, Sometimes they open late. We decided to depend on one of stores in town so that the meals are ready before we go into hana. We know we have meals for our guests. Yes, tour guides are required to make sure the meals are ready for the tour. They are told to make a call to reconfirm the order is made and the meals are correct. People involved in making sure the order is ready; person calling in the order, the person taking the phone call, the person writing up the order, the person making the order, the tour guide calling to reconfirm the order in the morning before he gets there. Yes, Jake is the best tour guide. Also, he has three days of his choice which he is very passionate about working. From Pickup to return to hotel, takes 12 hours. This is reason we do have pickup and join tour van.
