We actually did a Halfway to Hana tour, which was perfect for us, a mom and 2 kids ages 9 and 11. Our guide was Daniel, who was so friendly and knowledgeable. We hit a little rain on the way up, and ended up stopping at those sites on the way back, once things cleared up. My kids loved the black sand beach the most, while I loved the lava field the best. I have to make special mention that Daniel consistently took the utmost care to ensure the safety of my children, which made me feel so grateful as a parent. BOOK THIS TOUR, it’s great!

This was a unique, off the beaten path type of tour. While you could go through the Highway to Hana by yourself, there is very little signs advertising the stops on the way. We would definitely have passed some of these areas if it were not for our guide pointing them out. Our guide Eli was excellent and took great care of my family. We thoroughly enjoyed adventure. I also appreciated the photos he took with his camera and airdropped them to us.
