I did a 2 day weekend trip with Clay in Alabama hills in October 2019. I am an amateur climber with no outdoor climbing experience (only in a gym) and I signed up with a goal of learning to lead climb indoor and outdoor. Clay was very friendly and knowledgeable but more importantly thoughtful and careful. I always felt confident in what we were doing. By the end of the trip I learned a lot about building and cleaning anchors and felt very comfortable lead climbing easier routes. I highly recommend going with Clay and his team

What a fantastic guide! Clay thinks through every last detail and has a contingency for everything. A happy and confident fella who creates a great vibe for climbing. We regularly visit mammoth once a month and wanted to change our routine up a bit and decided to try climbing. We had no experience prior to our climb, but wanted to test it out to see if it would be a good future hobby for our family. Our guide was Taz. He was an amazing guide! He emailed us prior to our climb and we discussed some climbing goals we wanted to achieve. Taz took the information we gave him and set up the perfect experience for us. We learned a lot from him. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. Because of our over all experience with Taz and Ground up climbing, we plan to continue to use them in the near future to help us continue to reach the goal we want to achieve as climbers. I think Ground up climbing is perfect no matter what level climber you are. This will be the cherry on top to your vacation!
