Wonderful time! There was hardly anyone there when we stopped (Monday afternoon) and there really was no wait. I'm sure this isn't always the case, but we got lucky. $18 a person seems a little high, in my opinion, but it was an enjoyable thing we'd never done! Staff was friendly, facility was clean. Would say yes, go for it!

This was so fun! I wanted to experience a mountain coaster at least one time on my trip and this is the one to go to. My husband and little one waved at me where they could see me loading uphill and the last downhill spiral. The ticket wasn't too expensive, and the track was well maintained, had great views, and I felt safe the entire time. I thought I'd go full speed because I'm used to hard roller coasters at Cedar Point, but I pushed the brakes more often than I'd like to admit because the ride delivered on thrill! Workers were present at all the lookout points, and they maintained the property to the point where I saw a guy weed wacking on my way around a slope, and I couldn't help but smile at the engineering behind the timing of slowing down carts at the uphill portions. Not to mention the woman at the ticket booth was really nice and the guys at the loading station were so welcoming. A guy riding the coaster in front of me with his kid turned around and said that it was the best coaster he had been on and he lived in the area, and I believe it. Great stop. I'm so glad we took time out of our last day here to experience the coaster!

Rocky Top Mountain Coaster is pretty unique among the many alpine coasters in the area. Most have just one lift that takes you to the top and one long coast to the bottom. Rocky Top has several short sections with lifts in between. This spaced out the more thrilling elements and lead to a much longer ride time. There's also some kind of electronic system monitoring where the carts are and keeping them separated from each other. I was able to ride the whole coaster without breaks and never worried about running into anyone. Rocky Top also has some nice theming in each section and around the lifts. I was very impressed! If you can, I recommend riding at night. It's magical being surrounded by the lights of other carts whizzing through the nearly silent forest. Really took the whole experience to the next level!
