What To Expect
1
Royal Gorge Bridge and Park
Look down into the breathtaking Royal Gorge as this tour takes you over America’s highest suspension bridge nearly 1000 feet above the Arkansas River. Exclusive access through the south entrance to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park and to the top of Fremont Peak allow you to see and experience true Colorado beauty.
2
Skyline Drive
Skyline Drive is a scenic roadway in Cañon City, Colorado. It was built by inmate labor in 1905.[1] The road starts from U.S. Highway 50, with a gradual incline up the side of a ridge. When the road crests, it winds, climbs, and falls like a roller coaster until near its end, where a scenic outlook overlooks both the city (east) and the highway (west). The single-lane, one-way road rises about 800 feet above the surrounding terrain. There are no guardrails despite sharp drop offs, and the drive is about 3 miles long.
3
Temple Canyon Park
Temple Canyon road winds over the Royal Gorge anticline through the ancient hunting grounds of the Ute tribe. The canyon road passes "The Temple" but you have to know where to look. Fossils can be seen along the road with other geological wonders.

The trip through the mountains and across the Royal Gorge is well worth the price. But, the final piece of the trip may be the most memorable. Skyline Drive is a very unique street rising up above Canon City----you will be happy to find out it is one way! Hate to meet another car up there.

Had a very good time. Got to see a lot of views from the unbeaten path that we never would have known to take. Brandon was very personable and very knowledgeable about our route. Would do it again next time.

We booked the Jeep and Wine tour for a half day through Temple Canyon and across the Royal Gorge. (The wine tasting was in the afternoon at a separate location). Our driver was a humorous, knowledgeable, personable guy named Tom and he took us on roads that the general public can't access. He narrated what we were seeing, stopped so we could take photos, and even brought two cleaned blankets (in the time of Covid 19) we could use since it was a cool cloudy morning. Riding across the Royal Gorge bridge was exciting, as were seeing amazing views, learning some local history, and being educated and entertained by Tom. Excellent morning!
