What To Expect

Salem Old Town Hall

A historic building in its own rite, as well as a filming location for the classic Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus. A fitting location for the start of the tour. Note: We'll stop at this location, we don't go inside.

John Ward House

Historic location. 330 years ago this is where the house of Sheriff Corwin, the High Sheriff of Essex county stood. In the scope of the trials he acts as the warrant issuer, interrogator, and torturer, amongst others. Note: We'll stop at this location, we don't go inside.

Salem Witch Trials Memorial

Historic Location. Those who were executed in 1692 were not given any formal burial. this memorial, dedicated in 1993, is what we have today to now pay our respects to those who lost their lives in the Salem Witchcraft Trials. Note: We'll stop at this location, we don't go inside.

Booked the tour and spent $100 on it, 2 adults, 11 y.o. son, my 5 y. o. was free. Most of the tour was spent in back alleys, the shortcut took us through the dirty area with garbage and trash cans all around, the part of the tour on the main street you couldn’t really hear the guide, the tour guide was knowledgable but the delivery was pretty dry.We left half way through the tour. I would like to actually ask for a refund or at least a partial refund. Thank you.

The tour guide Caroline was entertaining and very good. However, we didn’t see anything of interest. It was a storytelling tour, with stops at random places. We realize much from the past is gone but $35 to hear a story was a bit pricey. We expected to see a little more of history.

We had a great tour guide who was very knowledgeable and turns out we are related to three of the “witches”! I learned a lot and was reminded of what I learned in school years ago! They were very kind and aware of us pushing my daughter in her stroller too!
