What To Expect

Salem Old Town Hall

A historic building in its own rite, as well as a filming location for the classic Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus. A fitting location for the start of the tour. Note: We'll stop at this location, we don't go inside.

John Ward House

Historic location. 330 years ago this is where the house of Sheriff Corwin, the High Sheriff of Essex county stood. In the scope of the trials he acts as the warrant issuer, interrogator, and torturer, amongst others. Note: We'll stop at this location, we don't go inside.

Salem Witch Trials Memorial

Historic Location. Those who were executed in 1692 were not given any formal burial. this memorial, dedicated in 1993, is what we have today to now pay our respects to those who lost their lives in the Salem Witchcraft Trials. Note: We'll stop at this location, we don't go inside.

This tour has all 5 star reviews for a reason! This tour was AMAZING! The small number of people on the tour meant that we could all interact with our guide who was friendly, knowledgeable, and a fantastic orator! We got to ask questions, learn about history, and get a tour of the city. It was fairly warm out when we went and our guide made sure that the stops along the way were in the shade. The route the tour takes could easily be altered slightly to be wheelchair friendly, and the tour as is was very do-able even for my bad knees and hips (though I did sit on the sidewalk a couple of times when we stopped). The guide speaks clearly and only when facing everyone so you know you wont miss anything! Learned a lot and would absolutely recommend! (Copy-pasted my review from Google. This tour is good enough that I'm leaving reviews in multiple places!)

Was so looking forward to this tour and had just arrived in town when a tornado warning popped up! We took shelter around the corner from the meeting point. I couldn't believe the tour could still be meeting during the torrential downpour, which cleared up 20 mins after the meeting time. I never got a call, text, or email from the tour company, but did get an email prompting me to leave a review. When I wrote back to see if we could get a refund given the extreme circumstances, I was ignored (twice). So here's my review - one star for a complete lack of communication and customer service.
