Salem Forest Lore Tour

Overview
Unlike any walking tour in Salem, the Forest Lore Tour takes you outside the heart of downtown and into one of the few remaining wild places in the area, where you learn from a practicing Witch, what it means to experience real magic, why nature is so important, and how to incorporate ancient knowledge into modern life.

Wear your hiking boots and bring your curiosity! This is a one-mile, guided hike that takes to you the crossroads of science, history, and philosophy in Salem Woods. Rain or shine, but we can't operate in snow due to trail conditions.

I really enjoyed it my only criticism would be that the tour guides should go out ahead of the tour time, especially if it rained for a couple of days. Part of the trail was covered in water and very difficult to get through. A couple of people in my group had on sneakers. Their feet got wet. Unnie and Jason were very nice. Unnie was very knowledgeable. She also gave everyone a little gift bag with a crystal, which I thought was very thoughtful. Maybe in the future they will be able to extend the length of the tour to maybe a mile and a half to 2 miles but I loved being outside.

Turned out to be a beautiful October day. The guide Uni and Jamie were awesome. Made you feel very comfortable walking in some witchy woods. Be careful... the trail is not for the light footed. Some up hills and rooted and rocky pathways. Def wear hiking boots if you can. If your looking for an hour full of nature advice and some Salem woods history this is the perfect tour. Had a blast!!!! Thank you Uni the Mushroom Queen and Jamie your Forrest King! Until the next time. Be well.

Eunie was incredibly patient and lovely. We got lost and were a bit late but she was super cool (as was the other person). We also have a 4 year old in our family and this tour allowed small kids. I really loved the walk in the woods, the messaging around oneness with nature and of course, the lore. The forest was beautiful, especially in the fall. Eunie knows much about plants, citizen science and especially mushrooms. It was fun to follow a witch into the woods.
