The ferry ride was enjoyable. My only issue was that my friend and I were both obviously struggling getting our luggage up the steep ramp onto the boat while 3 workers just watched instead of offering assistance.

The ship, crew, and efficiency were all fine. The reason for the low ranking has more to do with Viator, the company handling the ticketing, I assume. I made reservations for the 8:00 am trip from Boston to Salem and the 5:30 return trip back to Boston. I did not get confirmation for the Boston to Salem portion but did get confirmation for the return. When I went to the website, the 8:00 showed as no longer available but the 9:30 was available, so I booked that. Once there, it was discovered that the 8:00 trip did not run on that day at all. When we were leaving the boat in Salem on the 9:30 trip, we thanked the captain and said we would see him at 5:30, and he told us that the last trip of the day was 4:00 on Sundays, even though I had a 5:30 departure on my ticket. Long story short, I lost three hours on the trip to Salem that day and had to change and/or cancel reservations for the day. Again, I believe that is Viator, not the ferry company itself.

Ferry was cancelled and was not informed that it was. Had to find alternative way to Salem after traveling all day and was not issued a refund due to cancellation.
