With so many ghost tours to choose from in Salem, it can be a little overwhelming. The stories and the historic sites are about the same, regardless of which outfit you choose. It really comes down to the guide. And in that respect, you cannot go wrong with Dr. Vitka and Spellbound Tours. One of the best tour guides I’ve seen…ghost tour or otherwise. He speaks in a pleasant but strong voice that is conversational, like he’s telling a group of friends about something he enjoys talking about. His words are precise and practiced, but come across naturally and do not sound rehearsed. A very enjoyable evening. You won’t be disappointed with Spellbound Tours.

We have been on a half dozen or so ghost tours across the country and this guide was truly the best I have experienced! Love his inflection, tone, volume and his little laugh inserted in the right places. Overall, his accurate and interesting recount of history and events was captivating. He was both fun, factual and objective in nature and was careful not to overly fluff the content- while staying appropriately animated throughout.

Excellent tour and our guide was very knowledgeable and respectful of the haunted and macabre history of Salem. Me and my family enjoyed it and looking at my photos, I may have caught a ghost in the Charter Street Cemetery but I’m not sure.
