Salt Lake City Big City Loop Bike Tour

Overview
Get a comprehensive look at Salt Lake City with the Big City Loop Tour, an exploratory, 3-hour bicycle ride at the 'Crossroads of the West.' Groups will ride bikes to all points of interest in the greater Downtown Salt Lake City area, both historical and current. Make multiple stops along the way for breaks, photos, and good old rest. Questions are fielded by a personal, friendly, and locally based tour guide. Stopping for a bite to eat is always an option. Use of a bicycle and helmet are included.

My husband and I have done several bike tours and this one was the most bizarre. The guide asked us where we wanted to go rather than it being a specific planned tour which is what we were expecting. Great to provide flexibility but not so great if you’re looking for a tour that shows you the sites. The guide didn’t actually provide much information and seemed to be at a loss as to what to do. He mentioned several things he would show us but I’m not sure that we saw them. The tour also only lasted just over 2 hours rather than the 3 advertised and that included 20 mins looking in the Capitol building, and 10 mins walking round the farmers market. As I said a very bizarre experience and disappointing given the price and other good reviews.

Dear reviewer, This is, indeed, bizarre, and I am so sorry this happened! As this ended up being an Electric-bike tour, and not a regular Salt Lake Bicycle Tour, the person who took you on the tour was not Salt Lake Bicycle Tours personnel, but instead, the E-Bike shop's personnel. He is a guide that we have previously trusted, and have a good relationship with, however, this is deeply troubling to our company, and we very much appreciate the feedback you have given us. It is Salt Lake Bicycle Tours' commitment to give everyone who comes to us an experience of excellent quality, and I appreciate that your review does tip a hat to our other good reviews.  Your frustrations, therefore, are very valid, and I want to say Thank You for your honesty, and your business. I wish things had turned out differently, as we take time to train our Bike Tour guides thoroughly, and I hope that this unfavorable experience will not stop you from taking other Bike Tours elsewhere around the world, contributing to this exciting industry. Sincerely, James Miska Founder

I would like to thank James for the very interesting tour. He knows a lot about the city, it’s history and (hidden) places to go. The small downside was that you have to be flexible with your preferred date. The tour will only start if there are 4 or more people subscribed. Since we were only 2 we had to do the tour on Sunday or no tour at all (except if we payed for 4 people, which would cost way too much). Brings me to the price, we thought it was a bit overpriced, for this price in Europe we would get new bikes with multiple gears, the bikes we got where old and had no gears. Overall I would recommend this tour (try to do it on your first day in SLC), James is a great guide.

We toured Salt Lake City with James, he was extremely informative with his dialog and when asked questions. The route was quite reasonable as I have not been on a bike for 3 years and this was very good. Salt Lake City is a beautiful place, wide roads, clean city and the flowers were fabulous. I highly recommend this tour.
