We spent a great day with Ron and Steve from Big Wheel, touring the canyons and formations which comprise much of the area around the San Andreas Fault. The guys picked us up at our resort in two four wheel drive vehicles..and we were off for the day. We had 5 tweens and teens, all thoroughly enjoyed the tour enough to drop their electronics for the day and listen to the guides. Our guide Ron, an affable highly intelligent fellow who attributes his keen storytelling ability to his Hawaiin heritage, was an expert on every aspect of the region. Geology, history, agriculture, animal husbanddry..you name it. We toured geological rarities in Box Canyon, hiked a bit around the Fault zone, even used Ron's Jeep to pull a wayward traveler's Prius out of some deep sand. A great adventure, a good time was had by all kids and adults. The passion that the guides bring to the descriptions and the deep respect they have for the environment provide a great day for all. Go!

We had a great morning with our tour guide, George. It was a little tight in the jeep but the ride was fun, educational, and interesting. We got to see a little desert color as well! At the end of our tour George stopped at the Date Farm and treated us to a date shake! Great treat!! Would certainly recommend taking this tour!
