Ranger Creek is family owned and operated, and it shows that they love what they do. The dad and the son are your tour guides, and they make it interesting and entertaining. You start the tour with a glass of beer, and they really fill it up. You have the options to get two more, or one more and a whiskey tasting after the tour is finished. It's well worth the $10.

I loved my first visit to San Antonio's Brewstillery! The team there is great, especially Col Mac. The tour is worth your time if you are interested in learning about the business side of making beer and whiskey. But the real prize is the tasting. I consider myself a a beer and whiskey snob and they certainly rate. Their beers (although limited in variety) are all very different and each is spot on for the type of beer. However, the real gold mine is there whiskeys! They are all very well done. I particularly enjoyed their version of a Texas Scotch made with Texas mesquite. Really a one of a kind drink.

I love checking out local wineries/distilleries wherever I travel, and I hit the jackpot with this one! Ranger Creek is open on Saturdays for 2 hr tours for $10...this gets you either 3 beer samples or 2 beers and their whiskey. Now when they say sample, they mean the whole glass! Col Mac was the highlight of the tour for me....his son is one of the owners, but you can tell that he absolutely loves talking about their products and the amount of work that goes into them. I fell in love with their .36 bourbon, and if I can find a way to get it to FL I'll buy plenty more bottles!
