San Diego Best of the Bay 2 Hour Harbor Cruise

Overview
Enjoy the best harbor tour on the San Diego Bay—with a professionally narrated harbor tour of more than 50 storied landmarks. We’ll cover over 13 miles on the Big Bay, passing by Seaport Village, Shelter Island, ship-building and dry-docking facilities, Coronado Island, Point Loma, and Cabrillo National Monument, among many others. As we sail, we’ll see delightful marine animals and majestic sea birds, and we’ll talk about what local environmental efforts are doing to protect them. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to capture all the sights in photos and video, and our fully stocked snack bar is always open.

We are fortunate to have beautiful outdoor decks that are available for sightseeing on San Diego Bay. We have great weather on the bay right now, we would just recommend you bring a hat, light sweater or jacket and of course your shades!

First time to San Diego with the kids and thought this would be a great adventure for them. The kids had a blast running around the boat. They do not allow any outside food or beverage but they do have a bar for drinks and snacks. The prices were reasonable. My recommendation is to not worry about getting a chair on the main deck (facing backwards). It is hot, crowded, and not worth the fight. We got a table inside the main deck and we all went between there and standing at the front of the boat. No one was up there and we got prime viewing of the bay. My issues were with the sound system. The staff was trying to tell us all about the bay as we passed things but the sound system was horrible. Cutting out, making horrible sounds. The boat was run down as I am sure thousands of people go through there per month. They need to do a little updating and repairs. Bathrooms ran out of toilet paper within the first 30 minutes. I think because we were at the end of the day the staff was ready to be done.

Hi Geri - Thank you for spending time with us on board a harbor cruise. We're happy that your children had fun running around the boat. We appreciate your feedback regarding the sound system and boat condition, rest assured that we have forwarded your comments to our management team and we will definitely work on making improvements. We hope to welcome you and your family back on board again soon!

This cruise was a relaxing way to spend a few hours from walking around town. However, two hours was almost too long. I recommend only 1 hour and the southern harbor cruise. There you will see and be impressed with some of the navy fleet! The northern harbor cruise doesn't have as much to see - mostly scenery. The boat was clean and the guide was informative.

It really is impossible to be in downtown San Diego looking over the harbor, or to cross the Coronado bridge from the island back to downtown and not to have million questions and see things that you'd like to see more closely. We saw the Theodore Roosevelt, the Nimitz class carrier, Navy historical artifacts, lots of restaurants that we want to try, a different look at the USS Midway. A look at many Navy ships in the yards including the newest ship in the navy, the destroyer Admiral Zumwalt. We were grateful for every moment. Do bring sunscreen and if you're bald like me, a hat.
