Hornblower has been sailing around the Bay and serving up delicious dinners for a long time and they have it down to a science. I think a lot of the experience boils down to how much you enjoy the company of your dinner partner. In our case, my husband and I are both childfree; therefore we have traveled the seven seas and enjoyed a plethora of adventures together. We tend to go into a scenario like this one with anticipation of a great time. And Voila, it happens.
On this occasion, we had a third person with us which is always kind of iffy, you know, a "Fifth Wheel" situation where you're not completely free to be fully romantic with each other. We were hoping Rob would be able to meet someone on the cruise but most people aboard were already hooked up or too young or too old for him.
We enjoyed the meal. Both guys upgraded their meal to a filet mignon which was excellent, and I enjoyed the salmon. A bottle of champagne doesn't go as far among three so we encouraged Rob to go and order a bottle of beer from the conveniently-located bar.
It was a gorgeous evening on the bay, and my man and I enjoyed a kiss under the Coronado Bridge. It's obligatory for lovers!
How can you go wrong when the weather is great, the cityscape glittering under a full moon, a fine meal with champagne and good company? Not to mention a dance floor with a DJ spinning some great tunes. And he takes requests, too.
