On your first visit to San Diego this is a very good start. It's sort of an informative table of contents. You get a good idea of the layout of the city and some interesting facts that allow you to decide what you want to explore more. The drivers/captains/tour guides are good beginning sources of information. Best of all, you can see things without driving. San Diego has much more to see and explore than this one tour can possibly show but it is a very good start. Buy the 1 day pass. You can take public transportation, Uber, Lift or drive yourself for the rest of your trip.

The Hop-On-Hop-Off-Trolley was great for our use. We had 2 days in San Diego and used the H-O-H-O almost exclusively. It worked well for us, since we staying downtown and most of what we wanted to see was included at several of the stops. We were able to see downtown San Diego, Coronado Island, and Balboa Park without having to rent a car.

I rode the trolly for two days. All the drivers were great. Ease of transportation was perfect. I visited some great spots. Highly recommend.
