San Diego Whale Watching Cruise

Overview

Whale watching season is all year long in San Diego! Our team at Next Level Sailing provides the optimal experience with guides so experienced we received a 100 percent success rate during winter whale watching when spotting the King of the Deep.

We are one of the best outdoor activities to do in San Diego. Gray whale watching season spans from mid-December through April. Blue whales and fin whales are seen feeding in San Diego from April - August. Humpback whales and minke whales are seen throughout the year, particularly in the spring, summer, and fall. Aboard our 141-foot sailing yacht, the Yacht America, you will see a plethora of whales firsthand in their natural habitat. In addition to whales, we also see dolphins and sea lions, and an abundance of naval activity. Don't be surprised if you see an F-18 fly overhead!

The experience of the schooner was amazing. We saw two whales, one of which stayed right by us for quite awhile. The staff was informative and friendly.

Nice and calming boat. The staff on board first explains what we can see on the coast of San Diego when leaving the docking place. When whales are spotted, the boat slowly and respectfully approches them (unlike other boats from other agencies we crossed path with) and at a resanonable distance in order to avoid disturbong them. We saw two groups of humpback whales : a group of 2 and a group of 4. Wonderfull experience, it is a must in San Diego!

This tour was great! We got to help put the sail up which is something we'll probably never have the chance to do again. The dolphins were amazing...we ran into a megapod! We were disappointed that we didn't get to see any whales but love that since we didn't, we can go back any time free of charge and go out again. We'll be back!
