San Diego Whale Watching Cruise

Overview

Whale watching season is all year long in San Diego! Our team at Next Level Sailing provides the optimal experience with guides so experienced we received a 100 percent success rate during winter whale watching when spotting the King of the Deep.

We are one of the best outdoor activities to do in San Diego. Gray whale watching season spans from mid-December through April. Blue whales and fin whales are seen feeding in San Diego from April - August. Humpback whales and minke whales are seen throughout the year, particularly in the spring, summer, and fall. Aboard our 141-foot sailing yacht, the Yacht America, you will see a plethora of whales firsthand in their natural habitat. In addition to whales, we also see dolphins and sea lions, and an abundance of naval activity. Don't be surprised if you see an F-18 fly overhead!

Was looking for safe, outdoor activities in SD due to the pandemic. 1) Troy and team were well prepared, enforcing social distancing, wearing masks, booking boat at about 50% of capacity, cleaning common railings/bathroom, and communication on requirements. The boat is HUGE and has tons of space. I felt completely safe and comfortable. 2) UN BE LIEVABLE! We saw 3 blue whales (including whale tail out of water!), a school of at least 50 dolphin jumping and playing, and sea lions. We were able to see this because the captain knew where to go, was communicating with other captains, and didn't rush us. Troy is super knowledgeable about the city and marine life. He and his team were friendly and helpful. LOVE LOVE LOVE. The BEST! THANK YOU!

The entire experience was great! Captain Troy had the ship outfitted properly for social distancing measures, had food and drink aboard, and dropped a lot of knowledge on us about. He really took the time to make sure we got the full experience and we were able to see THREE blue whales. Troy even turned the ship around on the return so we could see a pod of dolphins (another hour of sailing time!). The crew was amazing as well, and made sure we were all taken care of. I highly recommend Next Level Sailing to all, and will definitely be planning another trip with my family.

Not only great seeing the sea life but to experience this beautiful boat upon itself was amazing. Wonderful staff made sure you were safe and had a great time. They did a fantastic job at Complying with social distance regulations, I felt completely safe and the cruise was very enjoyable. I would recommend the experience to anyone looking for a great way to spend a day on the water.
