Overview
What if you wandered through Golden Gate Park and stumbled upon its every secret? That’s what this is! The essential Golden Gate Park tour from the Haight to Ocean Beach.Golden Gate Park has a lot to offer, but the goal is to take you along the seldom traveled trails to showcase it’s hidden beauty. Starting off at the de Young Museum Observation tower you’ll enjoy a spectacular 360 degree panoramic view of San Francisco, Golden Gate Park, and The Bay. From there, we’ll make our way to the beautiful National Aids Memorial, sneak through the park’s many ecosystems, and spy on hundreds of flora & fauna like the great American bison, the spotted owl, and a slimy sweetheart, the banana slug. Looping lakes, open air plazas, and meaningful memorials speckle our journey through the park to the seaside. The massive Dutch Windmill and rolling sand dunes mark the end of our tour as we reach the Pacific Ocean. "Snack stops" made along the way at various Golden Gate Park food vendors!

Golden Gate Park
The essential Golden Gate Park tour from the Haight to Ocean Beach. Golden Gate Park has a lot to offer between its world-class gardens and exhibits, but it’s my goal to take you along the seldom traveled trails to showcase it’s hidden beauty. Standing under the tropical giants at the Conservatory of Flowers and wading in the serenity of the Japanese Tea Garden, I’ll illustrate how the park was planted, formed, and grown. Sneaking through the park’s many ecosystems, we’ll spy hundreds of flora and fauna like the great American bison, the spotted owl, and a slimey sweetheart, the banana slug. Looping lakes, open air plazas, and moving memorials speckle our journey through the park to the seaside. The massive Dutch Windmill and rolling sand dunes mark the end of our tour as we reach the Pacific Ocean. Reflect on your thousand-acre adventure and maybe pick a spot on the shore to watch the sunset.

We had such a memorable time with Ryan. He made sure to adapt the tour to our interests. As we chatted, he adusted the tour to see the sights and get the stories that would most interest us. His enthusiasm, knowledge, and insight made the tour wonderful.

Ryan was a terrific guide. He was both a historian and a horticulturist. From the view at the top of the DeYoung museum to the Aids Memorial Garden to the Dahlia gardens in full bloom, we covered many of the highlights of the beautiful park. Highly recommend a tour with him.

Loved the dahlias! Our guide was knowledgeable, fun, energetic, loved the city and was not shy to share his life in that marvelous city with us. We will remember and recommend him: Ryan Curtis 😊
