Sandhill Crane Kayak Tour in Chattanooga

Overview
This sandhill crane kayak trip is a unique experience just out side Chattanooga, Tennessee that is only available from the seat of a kayak. It only happens for a brief period of the year and should be experienced by everyone. This is as close as you can get being on safari in Tennessee. The sounds of the sandhill cranes can be heard well before you ever see them. It has been compared to paddling through Jurassic Park.

We had an amazing adventure with Zach and Chattanooga Guided Adventures. Zach was professional, personable and extremely knowledgable. We did the sunset kayak tour to see the Sandhill Cranes. It was great fun! I highly recommend using Chattanooga Guided Adventures. I'm already planning my next adventure with them.

Great morning paddling with guide and owner Zack. Zack will meet you downtown but we opted to meet him at launch site by the Cherokee Memorial (very interesting also). Zack didnā€™t cancel when only two of us signed up for the trip. We were concerned about being wet and cold as it was 29 degrees. Neither happened as Zack prides himself by dry launching customers from the shore. We dressed in layers but quickly warmed up paddling. Zack's kayaks are first class. He provided paddling mittens, binoculars, water resistant outer jackets along with hot water bottles to warm cockpits. As a former teacher who is married to an environmental science teacher, Zack is very knowledgeable of the various regional birds along with geography, geology, and local history. It was fun to learn from him. Zack pointed out many types of birds besides the numerous Sandhill Cranes. No paddling experience is needed. We look forward to taking more of Zack's guided trips. Thanks!
