Santa Fe Railyard Farmers Market Food Tour

Overview
Embark on this unique 3 and a half hour walking food tour of Santa Fe's Railyard Arts & Culture District. You'll get a chance to learn about the arrival of the railroad in Santa Fe in the 1800s and the rapid change this brought to the surrounding area. The Railyard Arts District is Santa Fe's most vibrant, up-and-coming neighborhoods that's home to some of the best restaurants and food/beverage artisans in the city. Stop at four uniquely Santa Fe venues on this tour to eat, drink and regale in the rich culture of Santa Fe.

This tour is designed with adventurous eaters in mind. Some food in New Mexico can be spicy, and while we can accommodate food allergies we are not always unable to provide "non-spicy" alternatives.

This food tour was absolutely wonderful! Joe was extremely knowledgeable and provided us great recommendations that lasted us the rest of the trip. The tour was the perfect size and length, and although we walked a bit, it was at a very good pace. It was also a cold day, so Joe provided us hand warmers to keep us warm. The food was delicious, and since our group was on the smaller side, we were able to meet and learn about the chef's/owner's lives. At the end of the tour, Joe asked each party what they were looking for during the rest of their trip, and provided recommendations. We listened to his recommendations for that evening and loved it. We even texted him later in our trip asking for recommendations in Taos, and he was on point for the restaurant he told us to go to. Overall, this was one of the best tours I've done. I would recommend doing this tour in the beginning of your trip, so you can get great suggestions for the rest of your trip. Thanks Wander New Mexico!

Hi Bhavini, I'm so glad to hear you found the tour to be one of the best you've ever done and that you found my restaurant recommendations to be helpful. I completely agree one of the best parts of the tour is getting insider knowledge on the best restaurants, breweries, wineries, hiking, museums, shopping etc for the rest of your trip. Santa Fe has so much to offer and I consider it our duty to ensure our guests have a great time on not only our tour, but during the remainder of their visit to Santa Fe as well. I'm also glad to hear you enjoyed meeting some of the chefs and owners. All of our tours are small (we cap each at 12 guests max) so thankfully this intimate, "behind the scenes" experience is something we're able to offer everyone! Safe travels and head back to Santa Fe again soon! Cheers, Joe

My wife and I take food tours in every city we vacation to. This tour is up there with the best of them. Every place we went we were met by owners and chefs and got PLENTY of food and a nice selection of drinks. The pace of the tour was excellent, spacing between restaurants was perfect, and our tour guide Joe was laid back but engaged. I can't think of a thing that I wish had been different.

Hi, We always love having food tour connoisseurs join us, so it makes me very happy to hear you found my tour up there with the best of them. One thing that makes our tours special is the slower pace and more intimate experience - by taking the time to enjoy a dish seated at each restaurant we have time to hear from the chefs and owners as well as get to know one another and share travel tips and restaurant recommendations. I'm glad to hear that you found the pace of the tour to be excellent! Cheers, Joe

This tour exceeded every expectation I had! First we met Jackie under the Railroad District sign. She was high energy and very excited about what was to come for the afternoon! Since we had a relatively small group of 6 of us, it was easy to get to know a little bit about our fellow diners and Jackie. Jackie impressed us with her background as a chef and tour guide immediately! We visited 3 restraurants and 1 spirit shop. The walking was not strenuous and Jackie did not rush us along. Our tour was well over the time allotted, we were not rushed and took our time to discuss all the food and history of the district and the eateries that were off the downtown path. If you visit Santa Fe this is a tour that should be on your list to do! Santa Fe has great history and flavors, experience it! Thank you to Jackie for a great afternoon!

Hi, I'm so happy to hear you had a wonderful experience on the tour! Jackie is really awesome, and yes her background as a chef and born and raised New Mexican makes her great for introducing people to the Santa Fe culinary scene. I'm also glad to hear you had a chance to get to know the others on the tour. This is always something we emphasize - it's our philosophy that food and drink brings people together, so we intentionally cap the groups at 12 guests max to ensure the groups are intimate and everyone gets to know one another of the course of the tour. Safe travels and thanks for visiting Santa Fe! Cheers, Joe
