Sarasota Guided Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Tour

Overview

There is a reason that the Mangrove Tunnels of Lido Key are a must-do experience when visiting the Gulf Coast. We launch from Ted Sperling Nature Park (190 Taft Dr Sarasota FL) which has clean restrooms, a rinsing shower, and shaded picnic tables. Our amazing local guides from Sea Life Kayak Adventures take you on a tour of Little Sarasota Bay, where you may see manatees, dolphins, a variety of birds and sea life...then finish up in the famous mangrove tunnels, a beautiful canopy that meanders thru an island. The tour usually goes around 2 hours, but we aren't on a strict schedule, so please allow for an extra half hour. We are located just minutes from downtown Sarasota, 20 minutes from Siesta Key, and a half hour from Anna Maria Island and Bradenton (add time for traffic during high season. We meet a HALF HOUR before our tours)

Chris led an educational and enjoyable tour in and around Sarasota Bay and into the Mangrove 'tunnels'. The pace was appropriate for the goup's experience level and everyone seemed to be having fun. My wife an I will definitely make use of the kayaks again in the future.

Ben, our guide, gave us a wonderful tour through the mangrove tunnels. The sky was blue, the weather was perfect. The cormorants entertained us as they dived under our kayaks for fish. Sea Life's website gave us all the information we needed.

My family of 4 had a great time on this adventure and we highly recommend it to others. My husband and I had a tandem kayak and our two teenagers each had their own kayak. I was glad for the tandem since the 2 1/2 hour adventure would have been too much for me to paddle alone. We loved having the birds diving under our boats for fish and going thru the mangrove tunnels was very peaceful. Since I have a bad back riding in the kayak was a little tough but I am very glad I did it. Our tour guide Chris was so knowledgeable and the whole adventure was wonderful! I've already recommended it to my brother when he takes his family to Florida.
