Sarasota Guided Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Tour

Overview
There is a reason that the Mangrove Tunnels of Lido Key are a must-do experience when visiting the Gulf Coast. We launch from Ted Sperling Nature Park (190 Taft Dr Sarasota FL) which has clean restrooms, a rinsing shower, and shaded picnic tables. Our amazing local guides from Sea Life Kayak Adventures take you on a tour of Little Sarasota Bay, where you may see manatees, dolphins, a variety of birds and sea life...then finish up in the famous mangrove tunnels, a beautiful canopy that meanders thru an island. The tour usually goes around 2 hours, but we aren't on a strict schedule, so please allow for an extra half hour. We are located just minutes from downtown Sarasota, 20 minutes from Siesta Key, and a half hour from Anna Maria Island and Bradenton (add time for traffic during high season. We meet a HALF HOUR before our tours)

Our tandem kayak tour with Chris was one of the highlights of our stay in Sarasota. The kayaks were of good quality, and Chris was knowledgeable, friendly, and easy going. The trip took us out into open water, along a shore line to an incredible network of tunnels through a mangrove thicket. We will put Sea Life at the top of our to-do list the next time we're here!

Travelling with our 17 and 8 year old daughters, my husband and I were keen to experience the mangrove kayak tours of the Sarasota Keys. Ben made our tour both enjoyable and interesting and was great when I managed to turn my kayak at the end of the mangrove tunnel, falling out quite spectacularly (I have never kayaked before). Ben was informative, supportive and encouraging and we loved the trip.

This was such a fascinating kayak tour. We saw a few manatees and kayaked near them and then headed off into the mangrove tunnels. Our guide Chris was super and very attentive; and what a good memory for names. We were a group of 17 kayaks and Chris knew everyone's name! I'm good at names but there is no way I'd remember 17 new people in a few hours. We went thru 2 tunnels and I would of enjoyed going thru more of them. Kayaking is very easy to do for older people and the only trouble I had was getting out of the kayak but Chris was wonderful and helped me. I was planning on just tipping the kayak over and falling out but I didn't have to do it cause he was right there ready to pull me up. We were a group of 4; myself and 3 of my kids in their 20's. Fun time; it was a highlight of our trip to Sarasota.
