I knew going on the tour would be informative, and I was looking forward to hearing about the history of Bonaventure Cemetery, as I had previously been on my own and found that I "needed" to know more about the history and the people buried there. Shannon Scott did not disappoint. He is a fantastic story-teller and had all of us totally absorbed the second the tour started. I could tell he had a connection with the cemetery and I liked that. His personal stories were heartwarming and when we left, I felt like I had made a friend. I will recommend this tour every chance I get. People NEED to see Bonaventure Cemetery and Shannon Scott is the one to show it off.

My friend and I visited Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah and we chose the tour given by Shannon Scott. We picked the best guide for what we were seeking. We wanted a history lesson about the cemetery and the people buried there, not just some sensational stories meant to entertain us. We're from New Orleans and have spent our share of time in old cemeteries and we know that he truth is more than entertaining. Shannon knew his subjects well and we felt like we were visiting his old friends. When we go back to Savannah we will seek out other tours given by him. We'll be back because, as Shannon said, quoting from the past, we've tasted the waters of Savannah and now will always thirst for them.

My wife and I recently took a weekend trip to Savannah GA and by far the best thing we decided to do was contact Shannon Scott at Bonaventure Journeys. Being a little of a history buff I persuaded my wife that doing a tour of the Bonaventure cemetary was a great idea and boy was she happy I persuaded her. To start off with the cemetary is both exapnsive and stunningly atmospheric, spiritual and plain beautiful. The native oaks with the Spanish moss on are gorgous throughout Savannah but knowwhere does the ethiral beauty of tree and the light breaking through them create more wonder and effect than at the cemetary. This place is now firmly esconced in both my wifes and mine top ten places in the US if not the world. Because of the cemetarys size and complexity I would definatly recommend this tour, while you would be able to see everything that Scott shows you without his knowledge and stories the visit would have fallen short. Through a masterful exhibition of storytelling and obvious raw passion for the subject Scott takes you into a world of simmering intrigue, sex, violence and love told through the lives (and graves) of the most influential, well known and important Savannians. I don't want to give too much away but if you are in any way a 'Midnight In The Garden . . .' fan or Harry Hervey fan or even a John Mercer fan DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR! In summary I found the tour itself to be stimulating, fascinating and all round good fun. Scotts knowledge of Savannah past and present is encyclopedic and intriguing and his manner creates such an enjoyable experience. Once again DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR!

Hey TJ. I know its been some time since you posted this gracious review, and although I'm certain you knew that I appreciated it, I wanted to finally say so here. Truth be told, I only knew you could respond to negative or poor reviews, and had no idea I could share a word of thanks to those who left me such positive ones! So THANK YOU! I'm a pretty humble storyist at heart, and so when I find someone who has taken the time to really create or give me several paragraphs, it more than blows me away and I'm eternally grateful! It was a lot of fun hanging out with you guys and hope that we can continue to repeat the experience! Happy New Year!
