Overview

One of Savannah’s most beloved holiday traditions is back and all aglow for the most wonderful time of the year. Now in our 24th year, enjoy the magic of Holiday Lights & Sights in the warm cozy comfort onboard Old Town Trolley for a fully immersive holiday experience. Conductors will entertain with caroling and tales of Savannah’s favorite holiday traditions as they drive through decorated historic homes and squares.

The tour also includes stops at the Isaiah Davenport House, where guests will time-travel back to the 1820’s to see how Savannah’s earliest residents experienced the spirit of the season while enjoying some holiday treats and stop at the new Plant Riverside District, a truly magical winter wonderland, where guests can say hello to St. Nick himself.

The best part was the tour driver/guide, Mr Grinch (a.k.a. David). As it is any time you take a tour in an unfamiliar place, the tour guide makes or breaks the experience with their local knowledge, insight, and sometimes humor. Our tour, Christmas lights in Savannah, was just plain fun. We saw several parts of the city, gained knowledge of Savannah's history with regards to Christmas, sang Christmas songs, and laughed at the Grinch's corny jokes. You should know that in the historical part of the city, there are not many outdoor lights because of fire codes to preserve the old homes, so Mr Grinch had to work extra hard with song and story to keep the group happy and interested. Bottom line: an inexpensive, 5-star two hours of fun.

Fun evening out. This ride will get you into the holiday mood. Our driver Addison made the trip the best. The history of Christmas over the years in Savanah was interesting to hear.

Lots of fun. Unfortunately the temperature was high 40’s and the trolly had open sides. We had fun though but would bring hats and gloves next time if it was going to be cold.
