Bonaventure Cemetery

During this 2.5 hour tour, you will be joining a very exclusive club of people who have seen the cemetery after it closes to the public. Not since it opened in 1846 has this been an opportunity, but thanks to your very special local host, now it is. You are literally locked in the cemetery the entire time; for the right taker, there's no price you can put on the joy of that. Imagine having the serenity, stillness, and quiet of the cemetery, uninterrupted by the living world. Stories stretch from the present day all the way back to Bonaventure's plantation beginnings in 1754. Our topics range from the funny and uplifting to the macabre at its most morbid. Some of the stories that will be covered include those of: • A "hooch runner" for Al Capone • A bizarre love story that ended in one murder and one visit to the electric chair • Savannah's role in The DaVinci Code • Lady Minerva & Jim Williams in Midnight in The Garden of Good and Evil

Mr. Scott is a great story-teller. The place is quite beautiful, and more so in the evening. We walked and walked (and walked and walked... bring your comfy shoes). We listened to the scandals and other stories of the region's dwellers of old (and today!). Do it toward the end of your stay! It will put a little bow on the great surprise that is Savannah!

I received an email the night before the tour was scheduled that it was cancelled due to funerals. We were given the choice of a daytime tour, but I declined. We will be issued a refund. Very disappointed.

Strange review. It's in our stated Cancellation Policies that out of respect to memorial services or funerals, we reserve the right to cancel tour or hopefully reschedule if we feel our tour will be in the way of that service. We're sorry you don't understand that. You were also refunded yes.

Shannon gives this place life and a personality. He's full of interesting info on the place and his enthusiasm is contagious.

Don't miss Bonaventure with this dude.

On a side note, he was really helpful getting us rescheduled when weather canceled our initial tour. Great guy.
