Bonaventure Cemetery
During this 2.5 hour tour, you will be joining a very exclusive club of people who have seen the cemetery after it closes to the public. Not since it opened in 1846 has this been an opportunity, but thanks to your very special local host, now it is. You are literally locked in the cemetery the entire time; for the right taker, there's no price you can put on the joy of that. Imagine having the serenity, stillness, and quiet of the cemetery, uninterrupted by the living world. Stories stretch from the present day all the way back to Bonaventure's plantation beginnings in 1754. Our topics range from the funny and uplifting to the macabre at its most morbid. Some of the stories that will be covered include those of: • A "hooch runner" for Al Capone • A bizarre love story that ended in one murder and one visit to the electric chair • Savannah's role in The DaVinci Code • Lady Minerva & Jim Williams in Midnight in The Garden of Good and Evil

Shannon is a perfect guide - he's deeply knowledgeable about the history of Bonaventure and is a great story teller. He's independently researched many of the folks who are buried there and can share stories about their families and histories. The 2 hours flew by and I learned so much! Highly, highly recommend Shannon Scott's tour of Bonaventure Cemetery. You won't regret it..

Shannon was a great guide and has clearly done his research when it comes to Savannah history! The tour was both very informative and highly entertaining, with many interesting tidbits woven into his stories on the people buried at Bonaventure. There's a very unique spirit to the town and Shannon really captured it during our two-hour walk around the cemetery. Despite the extensive damage from the hurricane, it was still a very beautiful place to see. I learned a great deal and would highly recommend it to visitors and locals alike.

We were just in Savannah Sept. 16-24, 2016 and visited Bonaventure Cemetery and a number of people were waiting for a tour that began at 10:00AM. When Shannon showed up we asked to join the group and were very happy we did. We would have gotten next to nothing out of going there on our own. He has so many interesting stories about the people buried there. The tour lasted over 2 hours for $25/person which we all felt was well worth it. Shannon is very well informed and a bit of a history buff so we were extremely lucky to have him as our tour guide.
