This tour was absolutely fantastic! The tour guide, Sistah Pat, was the best tour guide ever. Pat told us the history of slaves from arrival in Savannah, up to the end of slavery and happenings into the early 20th century. As we rode the tour bus, she stood, pointing out interesting features on buildings and telling the tales of spots nearby, and how much of the infrastructure of Savannah was built by slaves. History came alive as Pat told of the struggles of the slaves, the Underground Railroad, the songs they sang and the codes used to inform and plan escapes. She sang the songs perfectly. We also visited the Laurel Grove cemetery, were many African Americans of the 19th and 20th century were buried, including some relocated slave graves from earlier, and graves of poor whites. We highly recommend this tour and tour guide!!!

If you are looking at reviews for this tour, don't hesitate, just book it. You will not regret it. This tour is so worth it! Sista Patt is a charming, delightful storyteller. As far as practical information, this tour is nearly 100% on a bus, with a short bit of standing near the end. They also offered us a free shuttle from our historic district hotel to the tour meeting point.
