We had Franny as our guide. She was amazing!!!!!! The food was awesome at all places and Franny really knows her history about the food in Charleston. What a great tour. Do yourself a favor and skip a restaurant for dinner/lunch one day and instead go on a food tour. You will be so happy you did this tour.

The customer service we experienced with Bulldog Tours is the entire reason for this rating. They could not have been more accommodating. This is a company that knows how to treat people, bar none. SCENARIO We (4 adults) visited in the midst of Covid-19. Our tour with Franny wound up being private. We thought the tour would visit restaurants that weren't open to the public, but the first stop was where it ended. We were uncomfortable dining indoors due to the pandemic. The first stop was not only indoors, it was also unimpressive and active with many guests. We expressed our concerns to Franny and she immediately brought us back to the tour office where the manager promptly refunded us every dollar we paid. This is a company that understands reputation and integrity. RESTAURANT The first and only stop was Another Broken Egg Cafe, a chain restaurant (80 other locations). There's the rub. We paid for a culinary tour of one of the nation's greatest food cities with dozens of incredible restaurants (many of which boast James Beard-nominated chefs) and the first stop was a chain breakfast restaurant. An unremarkable and insignificant place you can visit in any of a few dozen other cities, such as the bustling metropolis of Ridgeland, MS. CONCLUSION I would never sway anyone from doing business with Bulldog Tours. They are a company with integrity and that counts for a lot. However, if you're looking for a real insider's culinary tour of Charleston, keep looking. This is NOT it.

We are very sorry that the culinary tour was not what you expected; however, we are pleased that you found the customer service to be accommodating. It is something we strive for here at Bulldog Tours. We are proud to support all of our food tour partners, especially during a pandemic, as all of them employ local workers. While Another Broken Egg is a chain restaurant, our location uses locally sourced and grown ingredients. Had you completed the tour, you would have experienced local bbq and seafood all owned by long-time Charlestonians. Again, sorry the culinary tour was not as expected but we are happy to know that the customer service from our staff was able to make up for the misunderstanding of what the tour would offer. We hope to see you on another tour the next time you are in Charleston.
