My husband and I decided to book a food tour at the last minute and so glad we did. We had a wonderful tour guide named Zachary who was fantastic. He is local and extremely knowledgeable about everything Southern. The tour itself made several stops (all within an easy walk to one another) and the guide was thorough in explaining the history behind the food, the location, the area landmarks, and all things historic. He truly knows his history and made the tour more enjoyable. They provided a good mix of southern food and sweets and although small portions at each stop...they were small enough to where you could enjoy each dish and be full at the end of the tour. I've been on several tours and this was definitely worth the $$. Be sure to ask for Zach as your guide!

Our group joined the tour on Sunday and loved our guide. She assembled a beautiful platter of history and food, knowledgeably answered questions and provided a rich dish of flavors and stories for us to savor. Highly recommend this tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Guide was interesting and we all learned something from the commentary. While focus was on low country cuisine, there was not a lot of emphasis on the specific restaurants - maybe they vary? Our group included about 18 people which made it difficult to sit and hear what was being said - partially due to long tables to accommodate our group and also because all the restaurants had music on their speaker systems that overpowered conversation. That said, we're glad we did this - learned history of Charleston, food, and liked what we were served.

Thanks so much for your review! For all of our culinary tours we want to highlight some of authentic Charleston dishes while in some of the best restaurants in town. We apologize if it was a little difficult to hear the guide. Of course, being in a restaurant there is always background sounds from music to other patrons enjoying their meals. We often try to have our tours sitting at one table to emulate the Antebellum style of dinners that were once served in the city. We are glad to hear though you enjoyed the tour though. Thanks again!
