Foods were typical southern items, so if you are from the south this might not be so interesting to you. My wife and I found it very average. Restaurants seemed to be disinterested in our visit. Guide was only adequate and not as good as other tour guides we've had in Charleston and other places. Historical tour of Charleston was much better -- more interesting and informative.

I'm sorry you weren't completely happy with your food tour. Yes, we do focus on southern cuisine. I'm also sorry you found the guide to be average. We do take pride in our tour guides, so I am very sorry to hear that. Thank you for saying that about our Charleston Strolls Tour. We appreciate it!

My husband and I have done other food tours and this by far was the worst. No one came out from the restaurant to talk about the food or their history in Charleston. The guide provided little information in way of history or food in Charleston. The only upside is we were given $10 back due to the first stop no being fully ready for us. I would not use this company again for a food tour. We were given food at the 1st stop after about a 15-20 minute wait, food was cold an non-appetizing. We were served a fried green tomato and a small bowl of cheese grits. The 2nd stop was a spice and tea shop, not sure what we were suppose to do there, other than shop. I didn’t spend $65 a person to shop, my whole family was bored and was not served any food. The 3rd stop was a candy store, we were give a very small sample of candy and an over sugared praline. (Not very good). There was nothing special about this place either. The 4th stop we were served some food: an oyster, 2 pieces of fried okra and pimento cheese on bread. The food was all right, but the glassware was dirty. It appeared there was some type of particles on my family’s glass along with fingerprint smudges. They were not ready for us when we arrived and appeared to do a quick setup. The last stop was the best, we had BBQ on a roll, fried pimento and cornbread with smoked butter.

Added the "Savor the Flavor" tour to our Stroll tour and it was just okay. The restaurants we visited did not seem welcoming and we had to wait for service quite a while. The first restaurant even refunded each person $10 because the service was so bad. No information on what we getting ready to be served to the point of having to guess what we were eating at several places. Tour guide was good and tried to make up for the restaurants lack of attention. Perhaps use different restaurants for a better experience. Not impressed
