We have done a lot of food tours and I think this is one of the best we have done. First, Faith did an excellent job explaining the food we were tasting as well as the history of the food and the history of the area. The food samples were diverse and gave us a good sampling of different southern cuisine. We had shrimp and grits, a beignet, hush puppy, beignet, cornbread, pulled pork, collards and more. Not everywhere had the best food (beignet was disappointing) but everywhere was good and gave us a good food overview of the area. The hush puppy was exceptional! Also don’t eat ahead of time as you get a lot of food. Bathrooms at almost every stop was wonderful as many tours don’t consider that. If you want to order alcohol which is an additional cost, I recommend waiting until the last stop or two at the first place you won’t really have time to drink it. Faith did a phenomenal job and provided us with a lot of info. I would recommend you request her if possible as your tour guide.

We had a fantastic tour with Blake, a Charleston native who shared with us his love of his city's amazing history, food, and culture. More than food sample, this really was a taste of Charleston, and the many things to make it unique. I think I would have done better in history class if Blake had taught it, and I got to stop and eat every 20 minutes or so. The guide makes the tour, and one of the things that was great about Blake is that he's really well traveled and interesting, which made it easy for him to relate to the wonderfully diverse group of folks on our tour. Blake was smart, interesting and fun, and he made the tour a pleasure. Thank you, Blake, and thank you, Bulldog tours!

What a great mix of history and food. We stopped at 5 places and got a lot of information about the history of Charleston along the way. We even had our 6 and 8 year old sons with and they loved it! Thank you to Faith for being a great guide. Would definitely recommend!
