Overview

As the Pigeon River comes out of the steeper parts of the gorge it calms down a bit. Beginning at our outpost, the Lower Section of the Pigeon River is perfect for those looking for a scenic float trip of the Smoky Mountains. Ages 3 and up. Experience is not required, and each raft will have one of our professional guides.

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Minimum age: 3 years old
Guests will then meet their personal guide and recieve the necessary equipment,
Including a PFD (aka life jacket), helmet and paddle.
After your guide double-checks to make sure all equipment is fitted properly, guests then hop on our bus for a short 10-minute ride to the launching point for your trip.
All guest must have secured shoes on, NO FLIP FLOPS / NO BARE FEET

This was a great adventure for first time rafting. Perfect for relaxing and taking in nature and scenic views. Our guide, Jedi Mike, was really great and very knowledgeable about river rafting. highly recommended! Next time-upper section!! Can't wait

We just completed our family's first white water rafting trip. Huey(not Chewy but both were good) was our guide for the trip. Our trip was the scenic tour of the lower Pigeon River that included my wife and I, two daughters ages 8 & 6, and our friends from WV and their 9 yr old son. Huey was very good with our children, pointing out different animals during the trip as well as showing my youngest daughter the proper way to hold a paddle. Being their 1st time, the children were excited to be on the river and Huey added to their excitement! I highly recommend Huey and Big Creek Expeditions!!!

We were really excited to give our kids a chance to go rafting without the roaring rapids. Our guide Adam did an excellent job of putting them at ease and making it fun for the family. We got to Jump in the river off the raft and float for a bit. Even though the lower part of the river is much more tame we got a few splashes and bumps. Had a great time. Good company to choose to go with. Well organized and felt the safety checks were thorough. If we venture this way again when the kids are older we will go with them again and do the upper part.
