Overview

As the Pigeon River comes out of the steeper parts of the gorge it calms down a bit. Beginning at our outpost, the Lower Section of the Pigeon River is perfect for those looking for a scenic float trip of the Smoky Mountains. Ages 3 and up. Experience is not required, and each raft will have one of our professional guides.

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
Minimum age: 3 years old
Guests will then meet their personal guide and recieve the necessary equipment,
Including a PFD (aka life jacket), helmet and paddle.
After your guide double-checks to make sure all equipment is fitted properly, guests then hop on our bus for a short 10-minute ride to the launching point for your trip.
All guest must have secured shoes on, NO FLIP FLOPS / NO BARE FEET

Our float down the river was amazing. We had such a great time and very fun and safe for children and adults. Our guide Cody was super friendly and did amazing job making sure we all were safe and having a great time. Highly recommend Big Creek Expeditions and Cody as your guide!

We had a FANTASTIC time with Big Creek Expeditions! Our guide, Cody, was very knowledgeable and helped an inexperienced crew navigate the river with ease. My kids had a blast (10yr and 5yr) - as well as the older “kids” (23, 34, 38, 56). Cody made sure my kids were having fun - he made sure to hit a couple small rapids for them. They cheered very loudly - it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Gatlinburg. Highly Recommend. Thanks Cody!
