Disappointed.
We have been on other schooner cruises that were way better than this one.
First, the captain didn’t introduce himself, did not inform us where the life jackets were located, and didn’t point out any landmarks.
This is a small schooner, 48 ft.
We got out of the bay, and the first mate put up the sails.
A gust of wind caused the boat to keel over on the starboard side so low that the water came into the boat.
I was sitting on that side and started slipping down towards the water.
Thankfully I grabbed the rope to pull myself up, and KC the first mate came right up behind me and told me that I’m safe, and held onto me.
She’s my hero!
If it hadn’t been for her I most likely would have gone overboard.
Other passengers feel that the captain could have let out the sail, turned the boat, or maybe we should have had life jackets on in such windy weather.
Anyway, I am grateful that KC was there to prevent me from sliding into the icy waters.
