Weight restrictions of 275 lbs. per passenger will apply. Not recommended for passengers with balance and or mobility issues. Passengers must be physically able to navigate a long narrow dock and stairs to board the boat. Once on board you will need to be able to move about on uneven deck surfaces, climbing down a 2-foot-deep step into our seating area, and then a 2 foot step back up on to the deck. Loose fitting clothing and flat soft soled shoes are best, no heels or flip flops, you may go barefoot onboard.
Passengers should take a flexible approach to sailing. Plans may change because of weather or for a variety of other reasons. We monitor the weather continuously and will not sail in heavy rain, thick fog, high winds, thunder and lightning etc. However, we will sail in overcast conditions, light to medium fog and in intermittent sprinkles. In the interest of safety, the final decision to sail resides with the Captain and can be made up until time of departure. If you’ve purchased a ticket and do not show up because of the weather, and the boat sails, your ticket is not refundable or transferrable.

What To Expect

Clearwater Beach

Meet at Clearwater Beach Municipal Marina. Mandatory check in 45 minutes prior to your scheduled departure at our ticket booth to receive your boarding pass(s). We pre board all passengers for a safety talk and then throw the lines off exactly at departure time! As we motor out of the Marina our First Mate will work on raising our sails. We then navigate Clearwater Pass between the barrier islands of Sand Key and Clearwater Beach to head offshore :) Once outside of the Clearwater Pass the Captain will shut down the engine and we will be completely under sail power. It is a unique and beautiful perspective of Clearwater Beach offshore. You may even catch a glimpse of Bottlenose Dolphins feeding or at play in the wake of our Schooner! We stay out for the sunset surprise, which is a different display every evening. As the Schooner Clearwater heads back in to the Marina, darkness is slowly upon us drenched in fantastic memories.

Loved this sailing cruise! Spacious with limited number of passengers, so plenty of room to move around. Highly recommend!! Awesome Captain and First Mate - very friendly. 😊

Wow - I am still smiling from our time aboard the Schooner Clearwater! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. My group of 12 friends enjoyed a sunset cruise last night for my bachelorette party - we are a group of new and old friends from all over the United States, and none of us had ever been to Clearwater Beach. I had selected Schooner Clearwater based on the consistent 5-star reviews, the description of the peaceful sailing experience, and the pictures of the beautiful boat. I wanted something different than a typical party boat - I was looking for a classy, relaxing, peaceful evening. I was not disappointed! From the time I booked the reservations over the phone, I was blown away. Maryellen helped me make the reservation that would be best for my group, answered all my questions, and made me feel valued and prioritized. Leading up to our cruise, communication was very clear via email. When we arrived to check in, Captain Mark and First Mate Zach took the wine and snacks we had brought with us and put them on the boat - they even put our wine on ice for us and offered to uncork our bottles before we left the dock. When we boarded, we were greeted with smiles and, as they saw we were a bachelorette group, with congratulations. Mark and Zach were very safety-conscious without being overbearing: we appreciated that they explained safety rules and measures right away, and also told us why they were doing various things throughout the cruise (as many of us were completely new to sailing). My friends and I really enjoyed that we were able to sit nearly anywhere on the boat (in addition to the seats themselves). Mark and Zach made an effort to greet and connect with each of us while respecting our privacy - they struck the perfect balance between cordial and professional. Mark spotted some dolphins and sailed toward them, but none of us realized that he had seen more than one. We were absolutely blown away at how many we saw, how frequently we saw them, and how close they came! We saw at least 10 dolphins and from the boat we could hear them communicating with each other. The sunset was gorgeous, and Mark guided us into calm water to watch the sun set and the dolphins play. The cruise was absolutely the highlight of our trip and a special memory that we will treasure for a long time! My friends keep saying that they had the time of their lives. I would absolutely book this cruise again when I next visit Clearwater Beach. Thank you to Mark, Zach, and Maryellen for making my bachelorette weekend so wonderfully memorable!

We had a fantastic experience watching the sunset aboard Schooner Clearwater. Captain Mark and First Mate Zach ensured we had a safe and fun time, while we enjoyed the gorgeous views of Clearwater Beach. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back for another memorable sail!
