Weight restrictions of 275 lbs. per passenger will apply. Not recommended for passengers with balance and or mobility issues. Passengers must be physically able to navigate a long narrow dock and stairs to board the boat. Once on board you will need to be able to move about on uneven deck surfaces, climbing down a 2-foot-deep step into our seating area, and then a 2 foot step back up on to the deck. Loose fitting clothing and flat soft soled shoes are best, no heels or flip flops, you may go barefoot onboard.
Passengers should take a flexible approach to sailing. Plans may change because of weather or for a variety of other reasons. We monitor the weather continuously and will not sail in heavy rain, thick fog, high winds, thunder and lightning etc. However, we will sail in overcast conditions, light to medium fog and in intermittent sprinkles. In the interest of safety, the final decision to sail resides with the Captain and can be made up until time of departure. If you’ve purchased a ticket and do not show up because of the weather, and the boat sails, your ticket is not refundable or transferrable.

What To Expect

Clearwater Beach

Meet at Clearwater Beach Municipal Marina. Mandatory check in 45 minutes prior to your scheduled departure at our ticket booth to receive your boarding pass(s). We pre board all passengers for a safety talk and then throw the lines off exactly at departure time! As we motor out of the Marina our First Mate will work on raising our sails. We then navigate Clearwater Pass between the barrier islands of Sand Key and Clearwater Beach to head offshore :) Once outside of the Clearwater Pass the Captain will shut down the engine and we will be completely under sail power. It is a unique and beautiful perspective of Clearwater Beach offshore. You may even catch a glimpse of Bottlenose Dolphins feeding or at play in the wake of our Schooner! We stay out for the sunset surprise, which is a different display every evening. As the Schooner Clearwater heads back in to the Marina, darkness is slowly upon us drenched in fantastic memories.

My wife and I were privileged to spend Thursday evening on the sunset cruise and it could not have been better. The boat was in great condition. It's big enough that there's room to walk up to the front and they don't overcrowd it just trying to make extra money by stuffing a few more people on board. Our crew was wonderful. They're both incredibly knowledgeable about both sailing and the area and were more than capable of answering all of our questions. This isn't a booze cruise (although you can bring your own drinks and they'll put them on ice for you) and it wasn't a tacky dinner cruise. It was classy, quiet (especially once the motor was cut and we were fully under sail) and the perfect way to spend the evening.

Our family took a two hour private sunset cruise during our Christmas vacation! Captain Mark and Zach were amazing, the boat is stunning, and our pictures at sunset will be displayed in our homes forever. We rented some other yachts during that week; however, none of the boats or crews can even compare to the Schooner. Our food was delicious, and the crew made our sunset cruise a memory we will all cherish forever. Maryellen, is a top notch coordinator; I appreciated her calls and assistance with all my questions. When you step on their boat they treat you like family! We will definitely be back to sail on the Schooner!

We had a fantastic time on the Sunset Sail. They allow you to bring your own drinks and snacks. The boat is very clean and well cared for. They only allow 22 passengers on and there are plenty of comfy seats for all. Mark and Zach were both great. Zach worked hard on the sails while Mark steered the boat and kept us entertained with tidbits of his life. They really care about your comfort level and want everyone to have a great time! Can't wait to go again!
