Sea Kayak Tour in Casco Bay

Overview
Learn the basics of sea kayaking on land before launching at Mere Point in Brunswick for a leisurely 3 hour morning tour of Northwest Casco Bay!  Often we paddle south to the end of Mere Point for a photo op and then on to visiting an island for a stretch break, snacks, and shoreline exploring. Then we paddle back on a different route close to an island to our launching point. Your Master Maine Guide will share history of the area while adapting the tour to paddling conditions and participants abilities.

Sea kayaking is an easy, fun way to sightsee from the water.  We often see different kinds of sea gulls, cormorants, ducks, great blue herons, snowy egrets, osprey and sometimes bald eagles. If we are lucky, we will see a seal.

Paddlers of all ages will love exploring Casco Bay in this protected, scenic, historic area! No experience is needed. This a family-oriented experience. Single and double kayaks are used on this guided tour by a Master Maine Guide.

Alice is so very knowledgeable and ran our trip with incomparable skill and leadership. Our trip had kids, teens, and adults and she kept us moving and interested in every aspect of sea kayaking. Her good cheer and love of Maine were totally contagious! This was my first sea kayaking experience and I’d go back out on the water with Alice anytime!

Our family really enjoyed our day of Kayaking with Alice. Highlight of our trip to Maine. Alice loves to share her knowledge of the area and her passion for the area is awesome. Simply put, Alice is good people. The area is beautiful, so it is a great way to spend a day. We paddled through some oyster farms which was really cool to see. Thanks Alice!

My joy as a Master Maine Guide is to bring Maine to life for my guests. When I can share its history, its wild resources, and its beauty, everyone has a grand visit! Thank you for letting me know that I did that for you and your family. Alice

This was a very fun experience. Alice started off the tour with explaining how to kayaks, such as boarding and rowing to keep you at ease. During the whole trip, she pointed out birds, we even saw an Osprey and their nests. We landed an a small cove where she explained the shells that were under our feet. Overall, really enjoyed it and would highly recommend. The one issue we had was in the transportation to the location. We were staying in Portland without a car and Uber/Lyft had minimal service requiring a long wait. So I would definitely recommend bringing your own car.

Maine is rural and ride share services are limited. There is bus service to Brunswick and taxi from the bus station. I'm sorry for your wait but it was a beautiful sunny June day! So much to see and the wildlife changes daily. I hope you enjoyed your candid photos of the trip.
