Seattle Harbor Cruise

Overview
Get acquainted with Seattle's historic waterfront from the water side of the wharf on this fully narrated cruise of Elliott Bay and Seattle Harbor. This cruise follows the shoreline and provides up-close views of the piers, ports and area attractions. There are plenty of interesting features around the bay: the Port of Seattle (one of the busiest ports in the United States), Colman Dock (the main dock of the largest ferry system in the US), and Pier 90 (home of the region's cruise ship business), Alki Beach (major local summertime hangout), the Space Needle, the famous Hotel Edgewater, the Great Wheel and the Seattle Aquarium. Last but not least, enjoy tremendous views of the natural beauty that surrounds Seattle. The majestic Olympic Mountains lie to the west, solitary Mount Rainier to the southeast, and the inviting Cascade Range to the east.

Nick was our tour narrator and was very knowledgeable. Learned a lot about the waterfront and got to see the container ships and gantry cranes close up as well as ships in drydock, an icebreaker and SEVERAL Coast Guard cutters. Even saw harbor seals sunning on a buoy. It was well worth the price of admission.

Even though it was hazy out, we had a good view of Seattle, our tour guide was great he explained everything and even pointed out some things that we went to the next day! Very informative!

Aside from the annoying group of intoxicated gentlemen on our cruise, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the 1-hour Harbor Cruise out of Seattle. The views were wonderful, the guide was very knowledgeable and funny, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. We went at 6:45 pm so the sun was gorgeously low. We stood the whole time by the railing as there were no seats left when we boarded, but standing is the way to go, in my opinion. Gets the Puget Sound breeze through your hair, the views with nobody in your way, ability to take photos easier. You see all sides as you go around in a circle, but we stood on the right side of the driver and had closer views of the Seattle skyline from that side. Would highly recommend! Oh, and buy your tickets online ahead of time. Not only do you get a discount, but then you can skip the line that seemed very long and slow.
