Seattle Harbor Cruise

Overview
Get acquainted with Seattle's historic waterfront from the water side of the wharf on this fully narrated cruise of Elliott Bay and Seattle Harbor. This cruise follows the shoreline and provides up-close views of the piers, ports and area attractions. There are plenty of interesting features around the bay: the Port of Seattle (one of the busiest ports in the United States), Colman Dock (the main dock of the largest ferry system in the US), and Pier 90 (home of the region's cruise ship business), Alki Beach (major local summertime hangout), the Space Needle, the famous Hotel Edgewater, the Great Wheel and the Seattle Aquarium. Last but not least, enjoy tremendous views of the natural beauty that surrounds Seattle. The majestic Olympic Mountains lie to the west, solitary Mount Rainier to the southeast, and the inviting Cascade Range to the east.

Our group of 10, ages 15-75, went on this tour as part of the City Pass. We went on the 10:30 am cruise. Both my parents have mobility issues and the cruise line let our group pre-board and helped them down the gangway, which was very much appreciated. The tour lasts an hour and completely narrated throughout. We learned a lot about Seattle! We got to see the container cranes up close and personal and also saw a few California Sea Lions in town to fatten up on local fish! We sat on the second floor at the front of the starboard (right side) of the ship which gave us perfect views for everything! We lucked out and had perfect weather so this was a wonderful, relaxing way to spend our morning. Wear sunscreen and bring sunglasses!

Great short cruise/tour (under 1 hour) where you see the port of Seattle. Tour guide passed great info about the city and the area. Highlight of stay in Seattle.

The Argosy Seattle Harbor Cruise lasts an hour. I did have to wait in line but it was a lovely day and people were friendly. The cruise has a bar and sells snacks. Safety information was clear and concise. All of the crew were pleasant but Ryan, who narrated the tour, was knowledgeable and funny. He came through the cabin at two points to briefly answer individual questions. The tour covers the history of prominent buildings in the city, like the Space Needle, facts about Elliot Bay and Puget Sound, and a discussion of he industrial end of the port. The information is well organized and laid out, with lots of humor. Just long enough, and a pleasant voyage.
