Seattle Harbor Cruise

Overview
Get acquainted with Seattle's historic waterfront from the water side of the wharf on this fully narrated cruise of Elliott Bay and Seattle Harbor. This cruise follows the shoreline and provides up-close views of the piers, ports and area attractions. There are plenty of interesting features around the bay: the Port of Seattle (one of the busiest ports in the United States), Colman Dock (the main dock of the largest ferry system in the US), and Pier 90 (home of the region's cruise ship business), Alki Beach (major local summertime hangout), the Space Needle, the famous Hotel Edgewater, the Great Wheel and the Seattle Aquarium. Last but not least, enjoy tremendous views of the natural beauty that surrounds Seattle. The majestic Olympic Mountains lie to the west, solitary Mount Rainier to the southeast, and the inviting Cascade Range to the east.

After having seen some of the major attractions in Seattle - the Chihuly Glass and Gardens and Museum of Pop Culture, for example - it was time to switch it up and go for a boat ride out into the harbor. Just being out on the water can be so relaxing, and if there are some stunning sights to pop photos of, all the better. Now I was planning ahead, so I bought tickets over the internet, but they don't let you pick the time of your boat ride there - you have to check in with the office on that day and they will schedule you to the next available boat (or the one you request if that one is later). We got there around noon for a 2:40 boat, got our tickets, and then went to Pike Place Market for a bit before getting lunch and getting on the boat. As for the ride itself, the boat was very comfortable, and it was fun seeing the harbor. As I said, I loved seeing the mountain off in the distance - I didn't anticipate that that would be something we would see. And we got to see the Seattle skyline and so forth. Very fun.

Thanks for cruising with us! We're happy to hear you had a wonderful time. It sounds like you experienced the Harbor Cruise with a CityPASS since that is when all reservations must be made in person - no online or over the phone ticket purchases. If you did not utilize CityPASS, that is when ticket reservations can be made over the internet for specific cruise times at least 3 hrs in advance to the cruise departure time. Thanks again for cruising on the Harbor!

This was a great way to get on the water, see the harbor and the City from a different view. Th guide was amazing and we got a lot of information from him. Weather turned and I am glad we brought jackets!! We would have froze!! Drinks and light snacks on board. Must do, and it isn't too long.

First off, purchase your tickets online. You save a few dollars. Best to purchase your ticket 24 hours in advanced (or earlier) as online purchasing does close. However, if you forget, or didn't realize this, take a walk down to Pier 55 where their shop is at and purchase at the counter. I was a bit nervous there wasn't going to be any spaces left but we were good. When you get your tickets, you go stand in line where the Ferry will dock. If you're keen to get a great seat, the sooner you go the better. We sat on the top deck (it was a hot day!) which is great for views but I think anywhere you sit will give you a great view as the Ferry does turn around at the half way point. Regardless of what side of the Ferry you sit on, you'll eventually see the views. I would suggest sitting in the back as it seemed to have great views regardless of where we were. There are drinks (alcohol and non-alcohol) for purchase and a few snack items (not sure what these were). There's also restrooms. As for the cruise, it went around the harbor (key word harbor cruise) and explained some of the Seattle views. The tour guide was excellent and was very knowledgeable. I actually learned a bit of facts that I hadn't known about Seattle. This is my first time coming to Seattle so I thought it was fun and informative. Plus, you could sit and relax to see some of the views.
