3
North Shore
North Shore is a large stretch of sand and beach. The name North Shore is spoken in the same sentence as surfing. To get there? Drive thru Wahiawa. Once over the quaint bridge you enter a different Oahu. The scattering pineapple fields, coffee orchards, red volcanic dirt and as you drive on to take in the sky as it opens up into the Pacific Ocean. The ocean awaits you with the suggestion of sea mist from pounding waves.
4
Nu’uanu Pali
The Pali Lookout is a site of deep historical significance. Named “Pali” meaning "cliff" in Hawaiian, the Pali Lookout is the site of the Battle of Nuuanu, where in 1795 King Kamehameha I won the struggle that finally united Oahu under his rule. This fierce battle claimed hundreds of soldiers’ lives, many of which were forced off of the Pali’s sheer cliffs. Note that the Pali Lookout is also known for its strong and howling winds. You’ll understand why the Nuuanu Pali Lookout is one of Oahu’s best scenic points when you feel the wind push up against you, hear the winds whistle through the mountains and see the breathtaking views of Oahu’s lush Windward Coast.

Sean was AMAZING!!! He was our driver, tour guide, foodie, teacher, and all around cool guy to hang around with. He picked us up at the hotel and asked what we wanted to do; we looked at him and said, I don't know. His response was 'I can work with that' and he did! He took us around the island, showed us beaches, food trucks, pineapples, and more. He found us some great lunch and introduced us to some wonderful fried treats. We learned all kinds of things about the island, how it was formed, it's more recent history, Hawaiian culture, surfing, movies/tv show sets, and probably answered about 1,000 random questions along the way. This was the our best experience from our trip; our only regret is that we did this on our last full day on the island. If we would have done it earlier in the trip; it would have changed our whole itinerary (we probably would have done more jeep tours:)) If you're planning a trip; this is a must and set it up early in your trip.

Our first visit to Oahu, and what a great way to spend the day, our tour guide was Lanai, and he definitely made the tour even more special, we toured the coffee farm , several beaches (well known and not so well known) and circled the island, stopped at a local restaurant for some delicious lunch. At each location we were able to get out take pictures and enjoy the sites. We learned about the culture, history and changes on the island over the years. It was great to get to know Lanai and it felt like we were family by the end of the tour, He asked us about the rest of our vacation and made several suggestions on where to go. Mahalo Lanai for making the tour special.
