What To Expect

Liberty Bell Center

we will walk past the Liberty Bell and view it from the outside, OR if time permits, enter the pavilion, and see it up close and personal.

Independence Hall

We view this from the outside while I explain it's importance. For an inside tour, visit Recreation.gov

Elfreth's Alley

This is the oldest continuously lived on street in the US. One block long with homes from 1730.

Christ Church

The church where our Founding Fathers attended, and where George Washington's pew is available for the public.

Betsy Ross House

The colonial home of Betsy and her first husband, and their first floor shop. We talk about the creation of the first flag.

Welcome Park

This is a plaza on the site of the home where William Penn lived. he is the founder of Philadelphia, and we talk about who he was and how his philosophy of governing influenced our Founding Fathers.

Rocky Statue

For tours including driving, we stop at the statue and the steps made famous by the 1977 movie, Rocky.

Elfreth's Alley

North America's oldest continuously lived on street. Homes dating from 1730, Elfreth's Alley gives you a good idea of what living in Philadelphia was like in the 18th century. All homes are still privately owned and maintained. And be prepared to answer this question: would you like to live on Elfreth's Alley?

My son and I were in New York for a week and we decided to head down to Philadelphia for the day. I found Lois on tripadvisor and contacted her. She enthusiastically responded immediately and we set up our tour. She had tons of ideas and catered to what we were looking for. She picked us up at the train station and we instantly connected. She really loves her city and is an arsenal of knowledge in relation to history, pop culture, current events.... it was a delight and there was not one lull in our conversations. My son thoroughly enjoyed our time together and he learned a lot! Lois is wonderful. This is a personalized tour so you don't get lost in the crowd. She left us with so many possibilities for when we come back! Thank you!

We had out-of-town friends coming in for the weekend, so instead of trying to show them the city ourselves, we booked a walking and driving tour of the historical section with Lois from SeeMyPhiladelphia. It worked out great, our friends had a great time, and we learned several new facts about our own town besides. The four of us fit in her car but we liked the walking parts too. Lois is personable and easy to get along with; she showed us so much!
