Our 14yr old boy and 17yr old girl did a private surf lesson and they had a fantastic time. The instructor was very friendly and informative. If you’ve never surfed at all it’s a great way to gain confidence. The up close pictures they take of the kids while they surf are also great.

My family did a semi-private lesson with Island Style and we had an unbelievable time. Mario, Steven and Devon were fantastic instructors (not sure if it is possible, but I would ask for them by name....they were that good!!!) Everyone one in my family (3 teenagers and (my wife and I are more than middle age) was up and riding on the first or second wave. All of us were riding waves into the beach. They gave great instructions and were fun to talk to while we were waiting for a wave. They were genuinely concerned when we could not find my 13 year old daughter in the ocean (there were other companies and classes going on at the same time so there were others out there) But THEY quickly found her (I missed her) and directed her back to their location. Would highly recommend Island Style and Mario, Steven and Devon in particular. My entire family has a great Hawaiian memory thanks to those 3 men. Mahalo gentlemen.

The is the second time we have used this school for surf lessons because I was so happy with them the first time. It is so convenient if you are staying at Kaanapali Beach. This time we did a semi-private lesson for my girls, 8 & 11. My 8 year old took a lesson in Poipu and hated it. It was everything I could do to get her to try again. Tristan was their instructor and he was Fantastic!!! Tristan is friendly, calm, encouraging, and helpful. We actually had him as an instructor 4 years ago and he was great then too. You can request him and if you are there this summer, I would recommend it especially for kids. By the time the lesson was over, My 8 year old was saying how awesome it was and the other kid was asking for a surf board for Christmas! Thanks so much to Tristan!!!.......and PS they offer pictures if you want them..not high pressure but the are available if you want to get them!!!
