What To Expect
1
Resurrection Bay
Disembark your ship at Seward cruise terminal, then make your own way to Seward Small Boat Harbor; a courtesy shuttle service is available. Meet your expert wildlife guide, then hop aboard your cruise boat and take a seat either inside or on the open-air top deck. As your boat slips away from land, take in stunning views of snowcapped mountains, craggy cliffs and shocking blue glaciers, including mammoth Bear Glacier. Should you wish, there’s also an onboard bar where you can buy refreshments.
2
Fox Island
After an hour, come to a stop by Fox Island, a remote islet that boasts luscious rainforests, skipping stone beaches and secluded coves. Step ashore with your guide and, depending on the option selected, head inside a cozy lodge for a scrumptious lunch. As you eat, watch a fascinating presentation by a National Park Ranger. After lunch, round off your visit with an hour of free time at ‘skipping stone’ beach. Then head back to your boat for your return journey across Resurrection Bay.

Amazing and beautiful. Certainly top notch because we saw so much wildlife. Crew member said she could count on one hand how many times they've seen that many animals on a cruise this year. Also, the weather and water conditions were beautiful -- we lucked out again. Staff were all very courteous and helpful.

Torn on this review. The tour description was about going close to glaciers and hearing them make noise as they calved. The tour didn’t couldn’t remotely get close to any glacier seen. The description is not what the tour does - that being said, the captain was fantastic and took us to many spots where we could see wildlife: harbor seal, sea lions, otters, puffins, etc. We even got the unexpected bonus of following a pod of four Orca whales. Also need to mention some logistics details which confuse first-time patrons of this tour: (1) when booking online, it took forever to find any type of address where the tour was located in Seward. We called to verify 4th St address was indeed correct. (2) when booking, it said our tour company was The Alaska Collection, however the business on 4th St was Kenai Fjord Tours. (3) no mention on company website about shuttle service to the dock upon arrival by railroad from Anchorage. Should make this seamless for patrons by coordinating with AK Railroad - “please let train riders know to take the Kenai Fjords Tour bus, waiting at train station”. We were able to find our way without missing any tour deadlines, however the logistics, tour company name vs. listed name are quite sloppy and need to be tightened up big time. Making the whole process seamless will make a better experience for your customers, and abate their stress level from half-baked instructions. Again, the tour itself was fantastic. Bring the other aspects up to speed and you’ll see 5 stars all the time.

The amount of wild life we saw, everywhere we looked it was so picturesque. The boat was very, very comfortable and a smooth sailing. The guide slowed down so that the entire boat could view the wildlife, we saw whales, seals, sea otters, eagles, Dall porpoises, puffins, sea stars and more. Lunch at Fox island was very good and relaxing.
