SF Native Local Food Tour

Overview
The Original Tour covers the most popular neighborhoods of San Francisco to provide the best local introduction to the city. The tour starts in the heart of the financial district underneath the Transamerica Pyramid. After our group introduction in SF's smallest redwood park, we'll weave our way through the secret side of downtown to see parts of the city that even locals often miss! As we explore the historical Barbary Coast we share family stories of the Wild West during the Gold Rush years. After learning about these lawless times, we'll make our way into North Beach (our Little Italy) as we sample a plethora of snacks and introducing our groups to local community businesses. We'll end the tour in our most authentic historic neighborhood, Chinatown. In Chinatown we'll visit stores and marketplaces that sell unique items, both dead & alive(!), while trying delicious authentic dim sum. Finally, we'll finish up by visiting the fortune-cookie factory and the "living room" of Chinatown.

This was among the top food/city/cultural tours we've ever had... And we're had some pretty amazing ones all around the world. Stuart was a fantastic guide and was either the best liar we've ever seen or was genuinely the most enthusiastic SF authentic food and history advocate you can ever meet. Good sign when everyone you see on the street in neighborhood after neighborhood knows him by name and stops to talk with him about various family or friends. The food stops were wonderful, the samples abundant and the owners and staff at every stop were friendly to all of us. Take the tour. Take the tour. Take the tour. Expect leftovers.

This was a fantastic experience! We’ve been on many food tours, and this was exceptional for a few reasons. There was so much food! Many stops and big portions, more than we could eat. Don’t make reservations for dinner you won’t be hungry for s long time. But the biggest bonus was STUART! The time flew by as he imparted us with so much information about the history of San Francisco, it’s unique neighborhoods and inhabitants. His love for his city was infectious, and he was an absolute delight, even on a cold, rainy day. Do. Or miss out - book this tour!

While we enjoyed the food (AMAZING!), we were blown away by Stuart's knowledge and enthusiasm for his hometown. He showed our group little pieces of San Fran that we would not have stumbled upon. It felt like we were walking around with friends and having conversations vs. just being a body on a tour bus. It was so much fun, as was our group, and we learned a lot about San Fran and its history!! Now the food - AMAZING - and more than you can eat!! Stuart gave us a sample of SF treats and treasures as we went to the little Mom and Pop shops. It was cool to see Stuart interact with all the people, and you can tell he leads with his heart and love for San Fran. We would absolutely recommend this tour and a walkabout with friends!! One of our best experiences in San Fran!
