Defiance Rafting
Your experience starts by meeting at the Defiance boathouse in No Name, CO in beautiful Glenwood Canyon (which is just 2 miles east of the community of Glenwood Springs). There, we will gear you up, talk about the trip, and introduce you to your river pro. Then we'll shuttle up the canyon to Shoshone where we will put-in on the Colorado River. You'll find action right away as we navigate down the Class III-IV Shoshone rapids. We'll follow that up with 45-minutes of scenic canyon float with occasional splashes and opportunities to jump in the water through lower Glenwood Canyon before arriving back at Defiance HQ. Class I–IV  Trip Length: 60 to 75 minutes (dependent on river flow) Multiple departures daily. (Check the schedule for specific departure times.) Check-in is 45 minutes prior to departure Requirements: Paddlers must weigh at least 50lbs to raft through the Shoshone rapids. Paddlers under 50lbs (but over 30lbs) will join us at Grizzly Creek, which is just below Shoshone rapids.
Cancellation Policy
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

This was our second trip with Defiance and I'm not thinking we will ever raft with anyone else again (even though our friends own a rafting company!) Just the best group of guides - pretty sure our daughter is still talking about Jeremy. He was amazing, even shared his Snickers bar with her. Defiance is efficient and just a ton of fun to raft with.

This was my first time rafting and I had a great time, and it left me hungry for more! Everyone I interacted with was helpful, friendly and enthusiastic. I absolutely will consider rafting with Defiance Rafting again!

We had 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids-10 & 12 years old). This was the first whitewater trip for my wife and kids. This trip was perfect for us since we got to experience the Class 2 & 3 rapids, leisurely float a bit, and then pulled out of the water before getting bored. It's a little hectic in the beginning since you put in and are almost instantly hitting the first set of rapids. That part was most unsettling for my kids since there wasn't an "ease into it" period. But after a few sets of rapids, that anxiety was gone. Our guide, Ana, was great. She told us a few jokes and a little history of the canyon.

Thanks for the review David! The Shoshone Short is a great introduction into the world of whitewater rafting. Glad your family enjoyed some time on the river!
