Shrimp Boil Cabaret -Save our Fishery with Dinner and a Show

Overview
Experience the real French Quarter at Shrimp Boil Cabaret
Step away from the tourist crowds and join us for a private dinner party celebrating the flavors and sounds of the Quarter. The Shrimp is sourced from local shrimping families at their boat docks a few hours before your shrimp boil to choose the largest, freshest, wild-caught local shrimp available. Mister Gregory, "The Shrimp Boil King of New Orleans" grew up in the Gulf South shrimping and boiling and advocating for wild-caught Gulf Shrimp and the "eat it to save it" culinary approach. Please join us for live local music and a lovely dinner party, make some new friends and eat the very best shrimp in the world.

This is our 3rd visit to Mr. Gregory's! It is always a little bit different and always SO SO special. Set up with long tables, which invite you to make friends with your seatmates, there is incredible food and lively entertainment. On this night, members of the Slick Skillet Serenaders performed. Mr. Gregory's right hand man, Bill, who has been with him for years, runs around, serving and filling all our needs! Along with his Shrimp Boil, Mr. Gregory serves up fascinating local history and what he calls "tastings". They are always unique and delicious. This time, we were served a shrimp and crab au gratin appetizer and a surprise of fresh, huge crawfish! What a treat as crawfish have been scarce and tiny this year! Then came the Shrimp Boil!! Gigantic shrimp brought to the surface by the big rain storm the previous day, mixed with vegetables and giant sausages!! SO good!! For dessert, we had an apple cake with a type of fresh whipped cream gently flavored on top. I cannot say enough about this wonderful experience!! Mr. Gregory clearly takes pride in what he serves and loves to share it with you. On your next trip to New Orleans, or even if you are a local, be sure to go see Mr. Gregory!! Reservations required!!

This was such a fun experience! It was a casual and intimate gathering, there were 12 people total. This was better than eating out at a restaurant. Our host Gregory was entertaining and informative. He is full of local stories and history. Bill was a responsive and helpful server. And the entertainment, Slick Skillet Serenaders, were funny and musical performers. We had an enjoyable, hands-on feast of large local shrimp, crayfish, blue crab and shrimp gratin appetizer, alligator sausage soup, and peach/pear cake for dessert. Highly recommend!

The most amazing unique experience from beginning to end… Local talent… Mr Gregory is the epitome of southern charm… The food is varied in the small app samples & are so perfect and then generous with delicious big shrimp and the boil vegetables… I would go every weekend if I could… It is in the quarter. Basically do not miss it. If you have a chance to you will not forget it. It is quaint and perfect … We were lucky enough to see Amber Martin, who is a world, renowned comedian, and chanteuse. … Had us in stitches and tears
