Skunk Train: Pudding Creek Express from Fort Bragg

Overview
This relaxed and scenic 7-mile roundtrip journey departs the Depot in downtown Fort Bragg year-round, traveling along the beautiful Pudding Creek Estuary and passing into primeval ancient redwoods to the tranquil setting of Glen Blair Junction.

Trains will stop at Glen Blair Junction for 15 minutes, allowing you to get off and stretch your legs and explore. Or, if you’d like to spend more time walking our trails amongst the redwoods, you can remain and catch the next train (roughly two hours later). Plenty of time to explore. Feel free to bring a packed lunch (no alcohol, please) to enjoy at one of our picnic tables.

These were some of the first tracks ever laid down by the California Western Railroad in 1885, and we've been carrying passengers on them ever since.

All staff (Ticketing agent, conductor, etc.) were very friendly & helpful; however, my wife & I found the overall experience disappointing. The Skunk Train heads out for 3 or so miles, stops at a pavilion like structure for 45 minutes then heads back. This is best suited for small children on field trips. In our opinion, this was not worth the $45 ticket price

It was a worthwhile ride to get back into the Redwoods and take a walk through the preserve. It was informative. A bit pricey for this experience, but we were glad we did it.

The advertising did not live up to the experience. It was $113 for 2 people. It was a 20 minute slow ride into the forest. There are lots of roads on the coast and Humbolt county to see many more Redwoods for no cost. Maybe ok for families with kids. Would not recommended for adult couples.
